Privacy
What we collect, why we have it, who else touches it, and how to make it go away. Short, because we collect very little.
Ash Krow collects two things: an email address if you choose to give us one, and whatever is needed to fulfil an order you place. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not add customers to the mailing list without being asked.
What we collect
If you join the release list
Your email address, the page you signed up from, and the date. Nothing else — no name, no tracking profile.
If you use the contact form
Your email address, the subject you selected and the message you wrote, so we can reply.
If you place an order
The order is placed on our store host, not on this site. They collect your name, email, shipping address, order contents and payment confirmation. We never see or store your card details — payment is handled entirely by the payment processor.
Automatically
Standard server logs kept by our web host: IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps. Used for security and troubleshooting.
Why we have it
- To send the release list — only to people who asked, and only when a new piece opens.
- To fulfil orders — production, delivery, support, returns.
- To answer messages you send us.
- To keep the site working and protect it from abuse.
Where the law requires a legal basis: consent for the mailing list, performance of a contract for orders, and legitimate interests for security and basic site operation.

Each is a processor acting on our instructions. Fulfilling an order necessarily means sharing your name and address with the production and delivery partners. We do not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone, for any purpose.
One of these deserves spelling out: the typefaces on this site are delivered by Google Fonts. Loading a page therefore sends your IP address and basic browser information to Google, which is subject to Google's privacy policy. Google Fonts sets no cookies and is not used to profile you, but it is a third party receiving data and we would rather say so than bury it.
Marketing — the important bit
Buying something does not put you on the mailing list. The only way onto it is to enter your email into a signup field yourself.
If you do join, you get one message when a new piece opens and nothing else. Every message has an unsubscribe link, or you can reply "stop" or write to us and we will remove you. Removal is permanent and immediate.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, runs no tracking pixels, and does not profile visitors. It stores a small amount of data in your browser to remember whether you have joined the list, so you are not asked twice. That never leaves your device.
Beyond that, a page requests only what it needs to work: the typefaces from Google Fonts, product images from our store host's image servers, and — if you use a signup or contact form — the submission itself to our database provider. All three are named above. Nothing else is requested from a third party, and none of it is used to track you across the web.
The checkout is hosted separately and sets its own cookies necessary for payment; those are governed by the store host's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Contact messages: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Orders: as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically 6–7 years.
- Server logs: a short rolling window set by our host.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — and we will do it. Depending on your country you may also have rights to data portability, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, write to hello@ashkrow.com. We respond within 30 days and never charge for it.
If you live in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We do not sell personal information and never have.
Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is held on services that encrypt in transit and at rest. Our subscriber database is configured so that the website can add an address but cannot read the list back — a compromise of the site would not expose it. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date below, and tell the mailing list where the change affects them.
